Louis Pasteur was a chemist and microbiologist. He was born on December 27, 1822 in Dole, France.
When he was a student, he was already interested in science. He studied mathematics, physics and
chemistry. After his education, he became a chemistry professor at the University of Strasbourg. In
1849, he married to Marie Laurent and they had five children. Unfortunately, three of Pasteur’s children
died because of diseases caused by bacteria. After losing three children, he started to work hard to
find cures for severe illnesses. He discovered that the weak structures of diseases save people from
illnesses. He developed the rabies vaccine. He died on September 28, 1895.
